The V200 was Samsung's first phone with an integrated digital camera. The camera could rotate a full 180° and uses a digital zoom. There was storage capability for around 100 pictures. You could send photos using MMS, or save them as wallpaper. Picture quality was excellent compared with other mobile phones at the time.

The Samsung SGH-V200 addresses user convenience above all else. Equipped with a superior MMS functionality and 180-degree rotating camera, is tri-band-enabled allowing users to stay connected to mobile communication systems globally. The new integrated digital camera wipes out stereotypes typically associated with a fixed camera lens. Samsung's design and technology underscore its status as a mobile phone innovator, which has the distinction of launching the world's first 180-degree rotating lens camera phone.

The Samsung V200 had some great features including a crisp 65,000 colour display, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), GPRS (fast, always-on internet access) and triband (global roaming). MMS meant that you could send and receive multimedia messages containing text, MIDI audio files, and graphics or animations. You could send MMS messages to another MMS capable phone or to an e-mail address.

Nokia has introduced several WAP products targeted to consumers, operators and other industry partners. Earlier this year Nokia introduced its first WAP compatible mobile phone, the Nokia 7110 dual band phone.

The Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a new advanced intelligent messaging service for digital mobile phones and other mobile terminals that will allow you to see Internet content in special text format on special WAP-enabled GSM mobile phones.

WAP hides the complexity of GSM on the application layer, just as the Web has done for the Internet. It spans a variety of transport options and devices, including SMS, 9.6 kbit/s GSM data, HSCSD, and GPRS, making the underlying network technologies blend together from the user's standpoint.

Ericsson R520m, first phone that supports fast General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). The phone supports Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and High-Speed Circuit-Switched Data (HSCSD), which speeds up transmissions of GSM networks even if GPRS hasn't been deployed yet. The R520m is the successor for the R320s phone, a phone intended for the businessman. This means stacked with all the features they could find. The R520m mobile phone appears to have been rushed out of the door by Ericsson and suffers from a slow processor which makes most use tedious. The R520m has recently been recalled by the Ericsson factory.

The Siemens SL10 : old sliding mobile phone with a four-colour screen

The Siemens SL10 is a sliding mobile phone with a four-colour screen (Red, Green, Blue and White). It was the first mobile phone with this form factor.

Its a small handy sized phone, with the only disadvantage being the fact that i cracked the face once and cant get it repaired but its only small.It has a 4 colour screen, infra red, some funky little ring tones.Colour screen and infer-red upload/download capabilities to name a couple. There are no games on it, but if you wan't to play games buy a games console.

Siemens SL10 differed quite high functionality, including the presence of the IR port. Unfortunately, the new form factor has been forgotten. As you are aware from previous submissions, it was time Motorola StarTac and cots in general. Next slide, Nokia 7650, appeared only in 2002.

This model of Siemens, as well as some others, ahead of its time. Introduced in 1998, she invited users to a completely new mechanism of disclosure, in which halves of the device slid (slide - slide) relative to each other.
